After record heat and a number of grass fires this week, we need some rain. The next couple of days we could finally receive some much needed rain for our area. We are tracking a system that will bring showers and storms to the western and central Oklahoma late Wednesday. Thursday, is when the rain will move into Green Country. With us back on the storm track there are signs we could see some decent moisture the next few days. Thursday through Friday the eastern half of the state will collect anywhere from a 1/2 inch to over an inch of rainfall. Check out the National Weather Service's total accumulation over the past 90 days most the state is still way below normal. Tulsa has only recorded just under 5 inches of rain for the year.Keep in mind since this is May, there is the possibility these storms could become severe so keep checking back with us for more updates. Be prepared for changing weather conditions the next 24 hours.
