Four Injured in Coffeyville Refinery Fire

Four people are injured after an early morning fire broke out at a refinery.

The fire started at approximately 12:30 a.m. at Coffeyville Resources (CVR) in Coffeyville, Kansas and was extinguished at 1:18 a.m. The fire broke out in refinery's isomerization unit.

The victims have varying degrees of burns and were taken to a hospital. The identities of the victims have not been released.

The refinery does not believe the surrounding community was affected.

CVR released a statement in the incident.

"CVR Refining personnel express their deepest concern for and are currently providing assistance to the injured employees and their families. Company officials are assessing the situation and will provide updates as information becomes available."

There is no word at this time what caused the fire.
