Report: OU Running Back Joe Mixon Involved In A Serious Altercation
Multiple outlets are reporting that Oklahoma Sooners running back Joe Mixon was involved in a serious altercation early Friday morning near campus in Norman.
SoonerScoop.com was the first to report that Mixon, who had been out celebrating his 18th birthday, was involved in an incident inside of Pickelman's Gourmet Cafe. Norman police were called to the restaurant at 2:39 AM Friday morning. The website says that incident is believed to have involved aggravated assault and battery.
Mixon's attorney, Kevin Finaly, later confirmed to the Oklahoman that his client was indeed involved in a serious altercation near campus early Friday morning. He also said that he and his client are working with the authorities.
Sports Director John Moss spoke with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office late Friday night, where he learned no warrant has been issued for Mixon's arrest.
***UPDATE***11:01 PM... KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City is reporting that the Norman Police Department are currently looking for Mixon. Officers went to his dorm room, but he was not there.
