The Tulsa Zoo is welcoming two sea lions this week that were rescued from Southern California.
Three-year-old Reyes and four-year-old Cisco nearly lost their lives in California. Reyes has lost one eye due to an infection and Cisco was attacked by a shark, causing him to lose mobility.
The Marine Mammal Center rescued the sea lions and nursed them back to health, but determined they could not be released into the wild based on their injuries. So the sea lions have come to Tulsa Zoo.
Reyes and Cisco will be on exhibit for a few hours a day while they get used to their new surroundings. They will join the zoo's 21-year-old sea lion Dorsey.
