Roy Oswalt has joined the Tulsa Drillers, and is expected to make his first start in Tulsa on Friday, May 24 against the Midland RockHounds. The three-time All-Star will be activated prior to Friday night's game at ONEOK Field. He will throw approximately 75 pitches in his first start with the club, and will reportedly make three to five starts for the Drillers before joining the Rockies' starting rotation in mid- to late-June.Roy Oswalt will make his Drillers debut Friday, May 24 at ONEOK Field against the Midland RockHounds. Oswalt signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies on May 2. On May 2, Colorado signed Oswalt to a minor league contract. The 35-year old right-hander has spent the past three weeks shape at the Rockies spring training complex in Scottsdale, Arizona. He made three starts in extended spring training, recording nine strikeouts over five shutout innings in his final game Saturday.Over his 12-year big league career, Oswalt has pitched for the Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies and Texas Rangers, compiling a 163-96 career record with 1818 strikeouts and a 3.28 ERA in 335 starts.In 2004, he led the National League in wins (20), topped all of Major League Baseball in ERA in 2006 (2.98), and was named the 2005 NLCS MVP after going 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 12 strikeouts to lead Houston past the St. Louis Cardinals.
