Spraying Begins After Sample Tests Positive for West Nile

Officials at the Tulsa County Health Department confirmed a sampling of mosquitoes tested positive for the West Nile virus.

No human cases have been reported for Tulsa County. The sample was discovered near 66th and Lewis as well as near 76th and Peoria.

Tulsa health officials are urging people to clear out any stagnant water, cut tall grass and wear mosquito repellant with DEET.

Areas with high mosquito populations will continue to be sprayed frequently.

They do test once a week through July through October.
