Scared Kids Jump from Car, Woman Arrested for Drunk Driving

A woman was arrested for DUI and child endangerment after she was caught drinking and driving with children in the vehicle, according to Tulsa Police.Melanie Richardson, 39, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Monday evening, after a caller stated she jumped a curb and hit a street sign near N. Xanthus Ave.The vehicle continued north on the road and stopped a block away from the wreck, when two children jumped from the vehicle because they were scared, police said.Richardson told officers she had been drinking since 4 p.m. and failed a field sobriety test. She tested .18 blood alcohol content on a breath test.Richardson was booked on charges of DUI and child endangerment with bonds totaling $26,000.
