A storm system, which is currently located in the Pacific Northwest will begin to move towards the Central Plains by Wednesday. This will increase moisture across the region, which will bring us a pretty good chance for showers and thunderstorms Thursday into Friday.
Right now, there looks to be enough instability to produce severe thunderstorms, including tornadoes. This doesn't look to be a significant severe weather outbreak, however, we are nearing the peak season for severe weather here in Eastern Oklahoma.
Now is the time to prepare with your family on what to do if a tornado is approaching your area. Have a plan of action in place, and more than likely your family will be safe.
There is the possibility that another round of severe weather could affect the area late in the weekend or early next week. Right now, that is still highly questionable.
