Equipment Failure Causes Significant Power Outage Across Tulsa

A major power outage affects thousands of electric customers in Tulsa and Wagoner counties.According to the PSO website, more than 11,000 Tulsa customers were in the dark, with another 1,500 customers in Wagoner County.A PSO spokesperson told Channel 8 that a piece of equipment on a transformer failed. All service was restored by 2:30amSeveral Tulsa's Channel 8 viewers called to report the sound of an explosion and bright flashes consistent with electricity arcing or a transformer failure.
