Sooners Done With Weird Bye Week Schedule

The Oklahoma Sooners are coming off their final bye week of the season. OU travels to Lubbock Texas on Saturday to face Texas Tech.

It's been a little weird the way the Big 12 scheduled the Sooners off weeks this season. OU has been off two of the last three weeks.

It's been hard for the Sooners to get into a rhythm.

"You barely get started and you've got two bye weeks." OU linebacker Tom Wort said, "It's a tough schedule and I feel for a lot of the guys it's like the start of the schedule. Because now we can hit a stretch and get into a rhythm and star playing football."

"It's been pretty awkward, but now we probably won't be complaining nine straight weeks of the grind." OU Center Gabe Ikard said, "So I'm sure we'll look back and appreciate the bye week."

Oklahoma will kickoff with the Red Raiders Saturday at 2:30pm on Tulsa's Channel 8. An OU win would be their first since 2003.
