A couple of Sooners grab Big 12 honors this week. Receiver Jalen Saunders was named the Big 12 Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his 81-yard punt return against Oklahoma State. The return tied the game at 38 and help shift the momentum in the Sooners favor.
OU Quarterback Landry Jones is named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week.
Landry threw the ball 71 times against the Cowboys. He complete 46 passes for 500 yards and three touchdowns.
As OU tries to put the big win behind them, the Oklahoma camp is a little divided on whether of not it will be hard to get up for this week's opponent TCU.
"I don't know why there would. There's nothing to bounce back from." Bob Stoops said, "Everything is in front of us. We've got a big game and with championship implications in front of you. So if anything I'd think it would give you some momentum."
But OU quarterback Landry Jones sees it a little different.
"It's hard to comeback and be focused and be all into a game when you have these emotional games I know for sure." Landry said, "Because it's draining. It's exhausting to play in those games. It's hard to get back up for practice. It's hard to forget about that game and move on to the next opponent."
But Landry went on to say he thought he and his team would be able to get focused on the Horned Frogs. Oklahoma and TCU kickoff Saturday at 11:00am.
