Southwest Airlines is giving customers a chance to cut in line--- for a fee, of course. The airline has open seating with boarding in A, B and C groups. The groups are normally based on how soon a customer checks in.
Now, for a 40 dollar fee, flyers can jump into the A group to get on sooner and pick the seat they want. The new boarding option can be purchased at the gate, up to 45 minutes before boarding, but only when space is available.
