Special Meeting to Discuss Next Spavinaw Police Chief
SPAVINAW, Okla. —
Spavinaw city leaders will hold a special meeting Thursday in an effort to select a new police chief.
Chief Clarence William Gregory, Sr. was arrested July 24th on complaints of lewd molestation. Spavinaw is located east of Tulsa in Mayes County.
Previous reports state that he is accused of molesting two girls under the age of 16. Both allege that he touched them inappropriately several times over a period of years.
Authorities with the Mayes County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation began and investigation that ended in his arrest. His bond was reduced last week and was released from the Mayes County Jail.
Town leaders are scheduled to gather at the special meeting at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Spavinaw City Hall.
