State Senator Calls For Executions Halt Indefinitely
By Yvonne Lewis
Joined by the ACLU, NAACP and others, Senator Connie Johnson is asking for an indefinite moratorium on on the executions until the entire process can be reviewed. Next she's calling for the replacement of Mike Thompson the man who's investigating Tuesday's execution of Clayton Lockett in part because he was a witness to the execution. Senator Johnson says at a minimum this should be carried out in an accountable way. Also questioned is an email sent by Thompson's top legal advisor who has prior connections to other state agents involved in Locket's execution. In an email provided they joked about trading execexecutiongs for football tickets.
