Stoops Not A Candidate For The Browns Job

It didn't take long after the season ended for the rumors to start swirling about Bob Stoops future. The day after Oklahoma upset #3 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans reports said Coach Stoops was a leading candidate for the Cleveland Browns job.Many Sooner fans were worried he would leave Norman for a NFL job in his home state and Bob didn't help squash the rumors. When asked about his connection with the Browns job he replied with, "You never know."But Monday morning the Associated Press cited league sources that say Bob is not up for the Cleveland vacancy and he never was.Coach Stoops told Dan Patrick last Friday that right now he loves what he's doing and that he's not pursuing any new jobs.While at Oklahoma Bob Stoops was racked up a 160-39 record in 15-seasons. The Sooners have reached a bowl game every year under Stoops, including nine BCS bowls. He has eight Big 12 Championships and the 2000 National Championship.
