A stretch of Highway 75 is dedicated to a state trooper killed in the line of duty.
Bill McClendon was killed on October 1, 2006 in a traffic accident.
Colleagues say McClendon had a great work ethic and loved "catching the bad guys".
Lieutenant George Brown was his partner at the time.
He says, Friday's dedication meant so much to a lot of people.
"Everyone who passes this stretch of roadway can look over at the sign and see it in his honor. And know, that he was a true Oklahoman, a true patriot and gave his life in the line of duty to secure the safety for the citizens of Oklahoma."
The sign for Trooper McClendon is located north of Okmulgee on Highway 75 to the Tulsa line.
