Strong Storms Sweep Through Green Country

The winds ripped down small branches and limbs.

Green Country is rousted out of bed early Thursday thanks to a strong line of thunderstorms.

The line moved in from the west and began impacting the western viewing area around 4:00am. By 4:30 the main line pushed into the metro area and less than an hour later, had pushed into Arkansas.

The gusty winds caused some power outages in Wagoner and Okmulgee Counties. Those gusts also ripped down small branches and leaves, littering yards across the metro.

Meteorologist Andrew Kozak said severe weather chances remain for Thursday afternoon, especially if the sun peeks out from the clouds.
