Tulsa Public Schools public information officer Chris Payne estimated $70,000 worth of damage after a fire burned a school's playground early on August 5.
Tulsa fire crews responded to Eliot Elementary, located at 1442 E. 36th St., shortly before 4 a.m. and extinguished flames on the school's playground, which was determined to be an act of arson.
The Tulsa Fire Department has released surveillance footage from the school that shows three subjects walking through the playground during the fire. They are asking anyone with information about the subjects to call the TFD investigative division at 918-596-2776 or Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
It was determined that three quarters of the playground are not salvageable. Payne said there may be a small section of the playground that could still be used.
Eliot Elementary school starts on August 20th.
