Even though recent rains provided some relief, we are still in the middle of a drought and it would take a lot of moisture to break the cycle. The latest forecast model data for the month of June shows the possibility of increased storm activity off and on through out the month. As far as temperatures, it appears we will go from warm to hot very quickly in the coming weeks.
As we head into July, the heat just keeps building and temperatures overall are expected to remain above normal. We may see isolated showers and storms throughout the month, which is pretty typical for the middle of summer. However, there are some early signs that August may bring a much better chance for rain. We can only hope that is the case considering this is one of the driest years on record.
