A Talala Sunday school teacher was arrested Tuesday and charged with molesting a 12-year-old girl. 29-year-old, Timothy Gregston faces four counts of lewd acts with a young child.
Tulsa's Channel 8 went to the Gregston family home in Talala Tuesday. A woman at the house did not identify herself and refused to speak to us, but other residents in the close-knit town had plenty to say. "Knowing it's that close to home makes me feel uneasy, but it's pretty peaceful around here, really," one resident said.
Amanda Pearce was stunned by the news, with her 10- and 14-year-old children attending the church. "It shocks me if that's accurate. Yeah, that's scary, just because my kids do go here," she said in front of the First Baptist Church of Talala.
The 12-year-old girl described what allegedly happened during a forensic interview with authorities, claiming Gregston took her to a secluded area of the church and kissed her on more than one occasion. The Rogers County Sheriff's office also said, he emailed photos to the girl and sent inappropriate text messages.
"It's saddening to know that people in positions of trust violate those and - worse off - violate young, minors - in this case - females," said Rogers County Sheriff, Scott Walton.
"You never know. I mean you don't know who is that way. I mean your neighbor could be that way and you wouldn't know," Pearce added.
Gregston is being held in the Rogers County jail Tuesday night on $200,000 bond.
