T-Town Rundo What to Do in Tulsa This Weekend
Even though it's cold and windy in Green Country, there's still plenty of fun and activities for everyone to check out.Get out of To Head to the annual Bixby BBQ 'n' Blues Festival over at Washington Irving Memorial Park. Participants can check out this event, now in its 12th year, and get some food in their stomachs and music in their ears. The event is free to the public with parking on site for only $10.City Swag: If you're really feeling nostalgic about Conference USA or Bassmasters, head on to the City of Tulsa's Surplus Auction. Beginning Saturday morning residents can head to the auction location at 108 N. Trenton Ave. for event banners, Tulsa Zoo equipment and even office supplies for those that don't have enough.International Celebration: This weekend the German American Society of Tulsa will have its annual Germanfest. The event takes place over at the GAST building at 15th and Terrace drive and is open to the public. Activities include folk dancers, bands and lots of food.Some Art: Brady District will be abuzz with the monthly Art Crawl. Residents can hit up the various art studios and stores downtown Friday night. Just make sure to get there early to find a good parking spot!Documentary: Looking for some mystery? Need your mind blown? Check out Circle Cinema's screening of "Room 237" opening Friday. This documentary explores the numerous theories about the hidden meanings within Stanley Kubrick's film "The Shining."Hit the Slots: If you are just really wanting to bet your luck, do with the sound of Jewel in the background. The artist with more than 10 studio albums will be performing at The Joint with tickets starting at $40.Go for a Drive: If you really want to get out of Tulsa and you really want to go somewhere out of the area, head to Enid where the annual Tri-State Music Festival will be taking place. The event brings together band students from Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas and other surrounding states for competition and festival activities. There's even a parade and carnival.
