Tahlequah Man Reportedly Stabbed 14 Times Outside Home
A Tahlequah man is in a Tulsa hospital Thursday afternoon after reportedly being stabbed 14 times during a fight.
Tahlequah Police arrested Anthony Sims on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon early Thursday morning. He was taken into custody after a reported argument that escalated into a stabbing in the 600 block of East Cherry Street.
Court records indicate that the fight occurred because Sims called the victim's girlfriend "a bad mother." And when police arrived on scene they found the victim with multiple stab wounds to his back, sternum, leg and lying on the ground.
"There were three small children at the residence at the time of the incident," the affidavit obtained by KTUL went on to describe.
Officers were told by another witness that Sims stabbed him in the leg while he was trying to break up the fight. Two wounds were found on the witnesses right leg.
Emergency paramedics transported all three men to Tahlequah hospitals. Officials added that the man stabbed 14 times was later transferred to a Tulsa hospital.
Sims was placed under arrest later in the day and transported to the Cherokee County Jail where he is expected to be charged.
