Woman Taken into Custody for Breaking into Tahlequah Church
Tahlequah authorities arrested a woman who reportedly broke into a church and stabbed a wall with a knife.
Officers with the Tahlequah Police Department placed Shayna Simmons under arrest Jan. 11 for second-degree burglary and destruction of private property. She was located in the basement of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Documents describe that when officers found Simmons, from Hulbert, she was holding a knife and was stabbing a wall. She reportedly would not listen to the officers when they told her to drop the knife.
TPD added that the officers were forced to use a taser on Simmons and she was subdued. She was transferred to the jail after being taken into custody.
