Tahlequah Woman Killed, Children Injured in Accident

A 32-year-old female died and two 10-year-old's were transported to the hospital with minor injuries after a one-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon in Cherokee County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the vehicle was heading westbound on State Highway 82B at approximately 5:46 p.m. when the accident occurred. For an unknown reason, the vehicle departed the roadway to the right, made its way back onto the roadway, and then departed the roadway again to the left. The vehicle struck a tree and came to rest in a ditch, OHP reports.

The victim was identified as Misty Rogers of Tahlequah. Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt, while the two 10-year-olds reportedly were wearing seat belts.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
