Tulsa Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a house fire in Brookside Saturday, Dec. 30.
Crews were called to the home in the 1300 block of East 43rd Court South around 9:30 p.m.
District Chief Dale Cooley told KTUL.com, when they arrived, fire was coming through the roof of the structure. Cooley said after a short interior attack on the fire, they had to pull some of their crews out due to concerns over the stability of the roof itself.
Fire crews were able to knock down the fire shortly thereafter.
Cooley says it's unclear what may have started the fire. He says it appears the home had been "unoccupied for the last couple of months." Crews have been unable to locate the homeowners.
When asked if there was anything about the fire that looked suspicious Cooley said, "anytime we have a house that's unoccupied for a couple of months that catches fire, yeah it is going to be a suspicious fire until our investigators get through."
No one was injured by the fire. The total damage to the home is unclear at this time.
