WAGONER, Okla. - The Canebrake, a destination hotel and spa in Wagoner, Okla., is currently undergoing a $2 million expansion to improve the guest experience for visitors to the 250-acre property, which currently includes an award-winning hotel and restaurant, Ayurvedic spa, yoga studio, boutique and more.
"We want to be a premier destination hotel and spa, not only in Oklahoma, but in the Southwest region, as well," said Sam Bracken, owner of The Canebrake. "This expansion will allow us to provide an even better experience for our guests, improving our spa facility, our activities and conference options, making The Canebrake an attractive option for individuals, couples and groups to relax and rejuvenate."
The Canebrake expansion will offer an additional 9,000 square feet to the resort, including four additional treatment rooms; a relaxation room; separate women's and men's locker rooms, complete with their own Eucalyptus steam rooms and infrared saunas; a gym, fitness studio and indoor basketball half court; a club room, complete with pool table, shuffleboard table and bridge tables; state-of-the-art conference room and reception area; an 1,800-square-foot pool with poolside grill and bar; and a FEMA-approved storm shelter.
The first Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality Gold-Level Certified Hotel Property, The Canebrake is undergoing these changes with the environment and sustainability in mind. The expansion includes many re-used materials from the old arena and original structure, LED lighting throughout, no volatile organic compound (VOC) paints and extremely low-energy appliances.
The expansion is expected to be complete by the end of the year. Open houses will be scheduled to showcase the project's progress and completion. For more information, visit www.thecanebrake.com or call (918) 485-1810.
