Since Bill Blankenship took over the helm of the University of Tulsa football program he's had to overcome the loss of a star receiver every year. First is was Damaris Johnson, then Byran Burnham last season and this year TU lost Keyarris Garrett in the final drive of the second game.So getting Union product Thomas Roberson back in the line-up last week has been huge for the Tulsa offense. He missed the first three games of the year with concussion like symptoms.Roberson caught six passes against Iowa State for 63-yards and two touchdowns. "You've got Jordan James over there on one side of the field and can do what he does and do a great job of it." said Blankenship, "But we needed somebody to be a difference making on the other side. I think this allows us to have a really good combination again."The Golden Hurricane are looking to avoid a 1-4 start for the first time since 2004 when they host Rice (2-2) Saturday at Chapman Stadium. Kickoff is sset for 2:30pm.
