An all-clear was given Wednesday afternoon after a suspicious letter forced the Muscogee Creek Nation administration building to evacuate.
Multiple authorities responded to the building in Okmulgee before noon. This was after being notified that the office had received a suspicious letter.
"I want to express my appreciation to James Nichols of our Emergency Management, MCN Lighthorse Police, Okmulgee Fire Department and the Hazmat group from Muskogee for their quick response to this matter," Chief George Tiger said. "The way this was handled was very professional and reflected a united effort to assure the safety of our employees being paramount."
Little information has been provided at this time. But employees were quickly evacuated and notified of the situation.
Before 2 p.m. officials cleared the building of any threat.
