Three more deaths were reported across Oklahoma due to the flu.
Officials with the Oklahoma State Department of Health released their weekly report that detailed the greatest number of deaths in Tulsa, Comanche and Oklahoma County. One more death was reported in the Tulsa area.
The department said Thursday that 51 people have died as a result of the flu during the current flu season to add to the record number of flu-related deaths, according to the Associated Press.
The previous record of 46 flu-related deaths in 2009 was broken last week.
The health department reports 1,202 combined hospitalizations and deaths due to the flu during the current flu season that began in late September.
