Thunder Close Out Lakers, Advance to Western Conference Finals

The Oklahoma City Thunder advance to their second straight Western Conference Finals.{} The Thunder close out the Los Angeles Lakers 106-90 in game five on Monday to win the series 4-1.

The Lakers Kobe Bryant did his best to take the series back to LA.{} The 5-time NBA Champion scored 42 of the Lakers 90 points.{} Pau Gasol added 14 and Metta World Peace had 11.

Game five was back and forth for the first three quarters of the game.{} But the Oklahoma City Thunder dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lakers 23-13 in the final frame.

OKC was led by Russell Westbrook with 28-points.{} Kevin Durant poured in 25 and James Harden finished with 17.

One of the biggest stats from the final game of the OKC-LA series was bench scoring.{} The Lakers had just five points off the bench.{} The Thunder had 35.

Oklahoma City will face the San Antonio Spurs, who swept their first two NBA Playoff match ups against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Thunder and Spurs tip-off the series on Sunday at 7:00pm in San Antonio.
