Thunder Fans Have Huge Impact On Team's Success
Oklahoma City has been a professional sports city for only a few years, but in that time, Oklahoma City Arena has become known throughout the entire NBA as one of the loudest venues in the entire league. The torrential downpour and flash flooding prior to Wednesday night's Game 5 didn't keep the Thunder faithful from turning out for the pivotal game against Memphis. But, that fan support hasn't come with the Thunder's recent success. It's been there from the very beginning."From the very start people have just been clinging on to the Thunder and what it means for the city and what all they do for the city," says Clint Gilliam. "And I think that just shows in the games in how excited we are for them to succeed."When you sit down and think about it, it's a match made in heaven -- a young NBA city paired with a young, successful NBA team and both have room to improve."You know they're young and they're doing so well as a young team that they're going to keep going up," adds Chris Humpula. As the team continues to improve, you can count on Oklahoma City's fans to keep up their end of the deal and continue making OKC Arena one of the hardest places to play for opponents in the entire NBA."Every game that we go to we're just excited to support them and be behind them in whatever they do and however they succeed."Oklahoma City has a chance to close out their series with Memphis with Game 6 Friday night at the FedExForum in Memphis. If necessary, Game 7 would be back in Oklahoma City Sunday afternoon.
