With all this cold weather, you can't forget about your furry friends outside.
The area's cold snap came quick enough that some animals haven't put on their winter coats yet.
Winter time also brings on cold and flu-like viruses for some critters.
Dr. Mike Jones of Woodland West Animal Hospital said owners need to Keep an eye on animals' food, water, shelter and even their demeanor.
"The big thing is make sure you pet is as active as normal. They should still be getting around even though it's cold outside. If they're doing well they should come to the door like they normally do and do the things they normally do," he said.
With snow and icy conditions, be sure your animals can get out of the weather and warm up to prevent frostbite.
