Update: Officials Identify 60-Year-Old Man in Apparent Suicide Over Bridge

Oklahoma Highway Patrol have identified a man that jumped over a bridge onto a turnpike in Tulsa Friday morning.

Just before 9 a.m., TPD and OHP received reports of an individual that jumped from the Sheridan Road bridge onto the Creek Turnpike. He was later identified as Walter Richardson, 60.

According to OHP, the Tulsa resident stopped on the bridge, got out of his vehicle and jumped over. He landed on top of the hood of a semi truck headed east on the Creek Turnpike.

The truck driver went about a mile before it stopped. Richardson was pronounced dead after authorities arrived at the scene from massive injuries received after the jump.

TPD were located at the scene from the bridge while OHP were on the turnpike, according to one of our photojournalists at the scene.

Authorities are working the apparent suicide and traffic is backed up to Yale.
