Trooper Involved in 2009 Choking Incident Facing New Complaints

Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Daniel Martin is under investigation after allegedly showing an "inappropriate adult photo" (not of himself) to a fellow trooper while at the Cadet Lawman Academy in Burns Flats.

Martin has been released from his special assignment at the Academy after Academy staff was alerted to the incident. Martin's son is attending the Academy, which is intended for high school seniors who wants to get a feel for what its like to an OHP trooper.

A press release from OHP spokesperson George Brown says:

"This matter was between peers only and at no time was Trooper Martin ever accused of any type of sexual misconduct with any teen attending the Cadet Lawman Academy. There have been no allegations of physical contact or direct inappropriate behavior between Trooper Martin and attending members of the Cadet Lawman Academy, despite what media sources are alleging."

Martin was in the national spotlight in 2009 after video showed him assaulting a paramedic.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
