The start wasn't Tulsa or its fans expected - a halftime score of 6-3 in favor of the Golden Hurricane. But the ending score was more on par: a 33-11 TU win.
The game turned in the third quarter, when TU exploded for 21 unanswered points. The scoring started with Alex Singleton's 31st career rushing touchdown, a one-yard plunge to put Tulsa up 13-3.
The big strike came courtesy of Ja'Terrian Douglass, who took a sweep and broke through two tackles for an 81 yard touchdown scamper. Douglass finished the game with 128 rushing yards on 13 carries.
The defense played well all night, only allowing a fourth-quarter touchdown from the Miners. They added to the scoring, too, when Shawn Jackson took a fumble back 17 yards for a touchdown.
The man of the night, though - and the season so far, was Singleton. The senior got another rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter, which tied him atop the Tulsa record books for career touchdown runs with 32. Singleton is now tied with Tarrion Adams (2005-08) and Michael Gunter (1980-83).
Up next for Tulsa is their homecoming game against Rice. Kickoff next Saturday is set for 2:30 PM.
