South Tulsa residents are told to leave their homes Monday due to a gas leak.
A high-pressure safety release valve popped open around 6:00am on the line which runs near 91st and Memorial.
Tulsa police asked residents in almost 100 homes nearby to evacuate for their safety. The valve was closed by Oklahoma Natural Gas and evacuations ended just before 7:00am.
No one was hurt. Fire officials said the release valve operated as it's designed and commented that the situation could have been much worse.
