Tulsa Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death

Tulsa homicide detectives are investigating a shooting death after being called out in reference to a home invasion Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Greens of Bedford apartments on the 6500 block of S. 106th E. Pl.

Tulsa Police Department homicide sergeant Dave Walker reported that a male in his 40's entered an apartment armed with a handgun and allegedly assaulted the apartment renter.

The apartment renter reportedly shot and killed the the suspect, who was in his 40's.

Police say a female formerly lived with the apartment renter and was in the process of moving her belongings out of the apartment with the assistance of another white male.

The apartment renter reportedly felt uneasy about the process and armed himself with a handgun.

Just before the female and her friend left the building, another man burst into the apartment, assaulting the renter.

During the shooting, the female's friend entered the apartment, was shot, and fled the scene.

He reportedly showed up at Hillcrest Hospital South with gun shot wounds around 5:30 a.m.

At this stage of the investigation, TPD reports that the shooting appears justified and the apartment renter has not been arrested.

The female's recollection of events reportedly does not match up with evidence but she has not been arrested either.
