Tulsa Kids Learn What It's Like To Investigate A Crime Scene

Getting to know your Tulsa police officers..

That's the purpose behind a day camp going on at Metro Christian Academy.

Kids get a chance to meet the K-9 officers, the bomb squad, traffic cops and check out the department's helicopter.

Thursday, they learned what it's like to investigate a crime scene.

Police tell us, it's an awesome learning experience and helps kids feel more comfortable around officers.

Sergeant Darren Bristow says, "It gives them a chance to talk to police officers in various uniforms. That way they're not afraid to approach a police officer. They're more forthcoming with info as they become more comfortable."

This is the very first year for this event.
