University of Tulsa linebacker Shawn Jackson has been suspended for the first three games of the upcoming season, head coach Bill Blankenship announced Tuesday.Jackson, a junior from Tulsa's McLain High School, was suspended for violation of team policy, the coach said.Blankenship didn't give details, but said quote "There are consequences to our decisions and sometimes bad decisions have harsh penalties."Jackson will miss TU's games at Iowa State and at home against Tulane and Nicholls State and will be available again September 22nd when the Hurricane hosts Fresno State."I expect Shawn will learn from this situation and become better for it," Blankenship said. "We need for Shawn to be a better leader on and off the field, and I firmly believe that he has the character, determination and work ethic to be just that for this football team."Jackson has started 23 games in two seasons for Tulsa, recording 189 tackles. He was second on the team with 101 stops in 2011-12.
