Tulsa Man Charged With Manslaughter After Allegedly Stabbing a Man

A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man to death Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Eric Spears, 27, was arrested yesterday for assault with a deadly weapon, but was released on bond. Tulsa Police arrested Spears again today for first degree manslaughter. He is being held without bond.

According to the police report, the victim and Spears were in an altercation when a witness heard the victim say, "Eric is trying to stab me."

The report states that officers discovered the victim near 800 North Gary Place, with stab wounds to his torso. He was transported to St. John's Medical Center for treatment, but was pronounced dead from his injuries late Tuesday night.

The witness told police officers that she had been in a dating relationship with both the victim and Spears. According to the report, the witness was with Spears earlier that day and when the victim arrived to take her home is when the altercation began.

Spears first court date is set for Oct. 19.
