A Tulsa man was killed early Thursday morning during a wreck on the Muskogee Turnpike.
Emergency paramedics were sent to the area just before 3 a.m. on the Muskogee Turnpike three miles east of Broken Arrow. This happened in Wagoner County.
A report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol states that the 94-year-old Paul Laughlin was driving on the Muskogee Turnpike when he stopped for an unknown reason in the right lane of traffic. He was driving a 2008 Toyota.
Authorities reported that a second vehicle driven by a 65-year-old Tulsa resident Carol Hinkley struck the Tulsa man in the rear. Her vehicle stopped in the roadway after the collision, but Laughlin was sent into a ditch and ejected from the vehicle.
Paramedics originally transported Laughlin in stable condition, but he died from his injuries later this morning. Officials stated he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision, according to the officer's report.
No other updates were given for Hinkley. She was wearing her seatbelt.
