Tulsa Police Arrest Man in Connection with Mothers Death

Josiah Sklar

Tulsa Police arrested an individual allegedly involved with the murder of a 56-year-old woman found dead at her residence Tuesday morning.

Josiah Sklar was arrested early Wednesday morning and transported to the Detective Division. He was book on charges of first degree murder.

According to the arrest report, a witness spoke to Tulsa Police who told them that Sklar sent him a text message saying he was present when Henry Laird beat Linda Laird and that "she was dead and needed him to come pick him up."

Police were then able to locate Sklar in downtown Tulsa with the help of the witness.

TPD originally responded to Linda's south Tulsa home Tuesday afternoon in reference to a "dead on arrival" call in the 7000 block of S. Urbana Ave.

Once at the residence, police found Linda lying on the floor at the base of the stair case in the living room, according to the police report.

Investigators at the scene wrote that she had a large amount of blood about her head and body and determined the cause of death a homicide.

According to the police report witnesses at the scene of the murder told police that Henry was still at the home before police arrived. He told the witnesses that Linda had "fallen down the staircase and was dead."

At the Detective Division on Wednesday, Sklar told investigators that he left the home with Henry when witnesses arrived. He said that they went to a Tulsa area hospital and then to a Starbucks before they separated.

TPD are still searching for Henry and have issued an arrest warrant. He is described as being a 17-year-old white male with reddish to pink hair and blue eyes. He is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. Henry also goes by the name Hank.
