Tulsa Police: Hicks Park Shooting Victim Uncooperative

Tulsa police are investigating after an alleged shooting early Saturday morning at Hicks Park. Hicks Park is located on the 3400 block of South Mingo Road.

The victim has been uncooperative and has changed his story multiple times, corporal Phil Snow with TPD said.

Snow said the victim met up with his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend at Hicks Park to fight at approximately 2:30 a.m.

The victim initially told police he was robbed, but police determined that story to be bogus.

During the fight, the victim stated that he had the upper hand until the suspect allegedly went and borrowed a pistol from a friend and shot the victim in the leg.

The suspect, a 17 to 19-year-old Hispanic male, then allegedly fled the scene. The suspect is believed to be about 5'6" and 160 pounds.

TPD believes the victim knows the suspect but will not give away his name.

The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
