Police Arrest Suspect in Connection to 14-Year-Old Murdered On Gilcrease Expressway
Police have arrested 19 year-old David Ruble in connection to a shooting that killed a teenage girl on the Gilcrease Expressway near Mohawk Boulevard.
According to the press release, Ruble was the driver of the black charger stopped by Tulsa Police Patrol officers soon after the shooting took place. Detectives interviewed more witnesses prior to arresting Ruble for the murder.
"The investigation at this point leads us to believe that robbery was the motive," according to Sgt. Dave Walker. "The family was targeted because they were in possession of ATV's that Ruble and others wanted."
Detectives reportedly are seeking another suspect in connection to this shooting, but are not releasing a name at this time.
TPD said the victim, April Montano, was shot in the head while in a vehicle headed eastbound on the Gilcrease Expressway.
Tulsa Police Department homicide sergeant said the 14-year-old was pronounced dead at 2:48 a.m. Friday.

The pickup was in the area of Pine and Peoria before getting on the Gilcrease Expressway. When police arrived, Montano was inside the vehicle on the side of the road.
She was initially transported to Saint Francis Hospital in critical condition. The black vehicle did not stop after the shooting, police say.
