Channel 8's Kim Jackson was one of many to participate in a media row-off today hosted by the Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors at their boat house on the Arkansas River.
The event is an annual fundraiser for the Tulsa Rowing Club to help with competition costs and new equipment and the goal is to reach $30,000.
Today the rowing team partook in a 12-hour row-a-thon, attaining more than 1.86 million meters in total.
The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors will also be offering a 2-week basic training program to help recruit 8th grade and high school athletes who might be interested.
Practices will run Jan. 27 to Feb. 7 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the University of Tulsa indoor rowing tank, the Tulsa Rowing Club boathouse and the TU boathouse in Catoosa.
