Running the football. That's what won the Tulsa Golden Hurricane their second Conference USA Championship last year. They averaged over 245 yards rushing a game. But this season TU has found it much harder to run the football. They are right at 145 yards an outing, but like last year they are starting to generate more yards on the ground with back-to-back 200-yard games. But can they keep it up against a Tulane team that's pretty good against the run. "Oh gosh, I think you know we've gotten two games back-to-back, but we're going against a team that is really highly ranked nationally in rush defense." said Tulsa head coach Bill Blankenship, "So this is going to be a great match-up from that stand point because we're going to try to run the football." Tulane is 13th in the country in rushing defense allowing just 103.7 yards a game. The Green Wave and the Golden Hurricane kickoff Saturday at 2:30pm from the Superdome in New Orleans.
