The Tulsa Sports Commission announced the return of a BMX and motorcross event in Tulsa this weekend.
USA BMX Grand Nationals attendees will pack into the Expo Square's Quick Trip Center. The event spans three days and begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday lasting through Sunday.
"We look forward to this event every year," said Ray Hoyt, senior vice president of VisitTulsa and the Tulsa Sports Commission. "The Tulsa Sports Commission looks for new ways to enhance this event each year and is dedicated to providing the USA BMX organization with quality services."
Riders from more than 17 countries are expected to take part in the event, including Olympians from 2008 and 2012 and thousands of hopefuls for future Olympic games. The Tulsa Sports Commission, who has hosted the event since 1997, brought in more than 800 truckloads of dirt, a jumbotron and bleachers.
More than 6,000 spectators are expected to attend the event, which brings more than $10 million in economic impact to the Tulsa region.
