Tulsa Teen Sentenced to Life in Prison for Walmart Shooting

Desjuante Boyd

A teenager will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the 2011 shooting death of a man outside a south Tulsa Walmart.

19-year-old Desjuante Boyd was found guilty for first-degree murder and two counts of robbery with a firearm during a jury trial last month.

Monday, he was formally sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole, as well as two concurrent five-year sentences for the robbery charges.

Boyd was 18 years old in August 2011 when he robbed another 18 year old victim, Shawn Hunt, and then shot him in the head outside a south Tulsa Walmart.

Investigators said the pair knew each other -- and the motive appeared to be robbery.
