Since becoming the head coach at Union Kirk Fridrich and the Redskins have had the upper hand against arch-rival Jenks.
Friday's semifinal game will be their 12th meeting in the last six years. Union's won eight of the previous 11 and they've won the last four against the Trojans in the playoffs.
Coach Fridrich says playing Jenks makes you raise your level of play.
"Playing Jenks it brings out the best. Those guys really bring out a great competitive environment." Fridrich said, "I don't think it gets old. These kids love playing them. They've played them their whole life. Anytime we compete against them in any sports it just brings out a great atmosphere."
The Redskins and the Trojans will hooked it up against Friday night in the semifinals at Broken Arrow High School. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm. The winner advances to the Class 6A finals against the Owasso-Norman North winner.
