Union JROTC Cadets Head For Inaugural Parade
Union High School's JROTC will be among those to help celebrate the presidential inauguration.
80 cadets left Thursday evening for the nation's capital where they will take part in the inaugural parade.
An estimated 800,000 people will attend the event Monday.
Earlier this week, we told you they needed to raise $40,000 for food, lodging, and travel expenses.
Thanks to a last-minute anonymous donor they met their goal.
They are excited for this historic trip.
"This is my second out-of-state trip that I've been on and this is Washington," says 9th grader Autumn Phelps. "It's a big deal. I mean, we get to represent Oklahoma. So, I'm really happy about that."
"It teaches them to be supportive of their country," says Autumn's mother Renee. "That things matter."
While in D.C., the cadets plan to visit monuments and Arlington National Cemetery.
